The event commenced with an inspiring inauguration led by Lt. Col. Rohit Prakash Rai, Commanding Officer of the 18 Karnataka Battalion NCC Mangaluru. The ceremony was presided over by Sr. Dr. M. Venissa A.C., the Principal of St. Agnes College. Also in attendance were Lt. Gayathri B.K., ANO of the Army Wing, and Flying Officer Dr. Hitakshi B., ANO of the Air Wing.
The highlight of the day was a session titled”Empowering Cadets: Life Skills for Leadership and Success,” delivered by Mrs. Akshatha Shetty, Assistant Professor in the PG Department of Computer Applications. Mrs. Shetty motivated the cadets, emphasizing essential leadership qualities and effective communication skills vital for their development.
During the event, Lt. Col. Rohit Prakash Rai addressed the cadets, speaking on the importance of discipline, self-reliance, and seizing opportunities through NCC. He encouraged the young participants to uphold the core values of the NCC and make the most of their training.
Sr. Dr. M. Venissa A.C. delivered the presidential address, offering strategies for success and commending the dedication and hard work of the NCC cadets. Lt. Gayathri B.K. extended a warm welcome to all attendees, while Flying Officer Dr. Hitakshi B. expressed gratitude .
The program included series of competitions, including Drill, Kholna-Jodna, Switch Paint, Quiz, Debate, and a Cultural Talent Show. Participants from thirteen colleges and three schools showcased their skills, fostering camaraderie and healthy competition.
The festivities concluded with a Valedictory ceremony, graced by Wing Commander Praveen Kaveriappa, Commanding Officer of the 6 Karnataka Air Squadron NCC Mangalore, who served as the chief guest. He appreciated the enthusiasm and participation of the cadets, emphasizing the importance of instilling NCC principles in everyday life. He also distributed prizes to the winners, with SDM College, Ujire, securing the overall championship, and St. Aloysius deemed to be University being declared the runner-up.
The event concluded on a patriotic note with the NCC song followed by the National Anthem, leaving the cadets inspired and motivated to embody the values of discipline, leadership, and service.
