Mangaluru: In collaboration with the Department of Clinical Psychology, St Agnes College (Autonomous), the centre conducted an expert webinar series titled “Midlife Crisis: Navigating Challenges and Opportunities” from 12 to 15 January 2026, between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm via Google Meet. The programme aimed to create awareness about the psychological, physical, and social challenges faced during midlife and to promote holistic well-being among participants. his initiative was aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
On 12 January 2026 (Day 1), Mrs. Vinatha K, TEDx Speaker and Retired Associate Professor & HOD, Department of Psychology, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), delivered an insightful session on “The Modern Midlife Crisis: Understanding Transitions and Coping.” She elaborated on emotional and psychological transitions in midlife, common stressors, identity shifts, and practical coping strategies for managing change effectively. The second session, titled “Strong Through Midlife: Navigating Physical Health and Hormonal Transitions,” was conducted by Dr. Vivek V. Kumar, Clinical Director and Chief Fertility Consultant, Wishborn Women’s Clinic and Fertility Centre, Angamaly, Kerala on 13 January 2026. He discussed hormonal changes, reproductive health, menopause, and the importance of maintaining overall physical well-being during midlife. On 14 January 2026 (Day 3), Dr. Sapna D, Professor, Sharada Ayurveda Medical College Hospital, Thalapady, Mangaluru, presented on “Nutritional Health for Brain, Body and Mind.” She emphasized the significance of balanced nutrition, Ayurveda-based lifestyle practices, and mindful dietary habits in sustaining both mental and physical health during midlife. The final session on 15 January 2026 (Day 4), titled “Reinvention & Purpose: Midlife as a Second Beginning,” was facilitated by Ms. Kripanjali Tellis Nayak, Registered Nurse, Senior Living Consultant, Soft Skills Trainer, and Motivational Speaker. She inspired participants to perceive midlife not as a period of decline but as a phase of renewal, personal growth, and purposeful living.
The webinar series received positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the expert insights, relevance, and practical guidance provided. The programme successfully achieved its objective of promoting mental health awareness, holistic well-being, and a constructive perspective on midlife transitions.
