On Monday, 18 April 2022 the Department of Secretarial Practice organized an industrial visit to Emunah Masala Berachah Food Industrial Estate, Yeyyadi, Mangalore. The Final year BA, Office Practice and Management students 25 in number along with three faculty members visited the factory. The Proprietor, Mr. Samuel Soans explained the process of preparing variety masala powders, the various machineries used, their functioning etc. He gave a demo of how the various powdered ingredients mixed in a 300 kg mixer and the process of packing and sealing masala in an automated machine for a pre-fixed net weight and for fixed number of packets. Students got a rare opportunity to see the variety of ingredients, their price and its use. Some of the ingredients were imported ones too. The proprietor briefed the students about the inception of his industry and its progress, where with four varieties now has grown to 62 types of products. He also informed his new plans of masala for seasoning. He motivated the students to make a study of their area of interest by reading related books and to start their own entrepreneurship. He highlighted the importance of hard work, dedication and gave the tips to retain the quality and face the competitions with a good amount of margin. The visit was a fruitful one with an interactive session.
