The Postgraduate Department of Big Data Analytics organised a Technical Seminar on ‘Network and Cybersecurity’ on 21 September 2026. The resource person was Ms. Munisah Muneer, Assistant Professor from the department of Computer Science at Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management, Mangaluru. With expertise in cybersecurity operations as a Security Analyst and Security Engineer, Ms. Munisah highlighted the importance of understanding the cyberattack chain and introduced the participants to tools for monitoring cyber threats. The seminar was attended by students from the departments of Big Data Analytics and Data Science. Through live demonstrations of network security tool, the participants were introduced to practical approaches for monitoring network activities, identifying potential threats and security events. The interactive session provided participants with valuable insights in the evolving field of cybersecurity and its challenges and the importance of adopting proactive security practices.
