A session titled “From Campus to Corporate: Global Business Foundation Skills for Career Success” was conducted on 03 September 2026 at the A4, Avilla Block, for 90 undergraduate students of the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme.
The session was designed to prepare undergraduate students for the transition from an academic environment to the professional workplace. It focused on developing a combination of technical competence, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, adaptability, and professionalism, which are essential for effective participation in the contemporary technology-driven workplace.
The programme was facilitated by Divya Ramachandran, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology and Shruthi, Assistant Professor, Department of BCA.
The session was conducted using an interactive, activity-based and experiential learning methodology. With participant strength of 90 BCA undergraduate students, the activities were designed to encourage group participation, discussion, reflection, and practical application.
The programme was aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
By focusing on employability, career readiness, workplace skills, digital competencies, problem-solving, professional behaviour, and continuous learning, the programme contributed to preparing BCA undergraduate students for productive participation in the future workforce.
The initiative particularly emphasised the development of skills required to improve students’ transition from higher education to meaningful employment.The session provided a valuable platform for BCA undergraduate students to understand the competencies required beyond their academic curriculum. The combination of technical knowledge with communication, teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, and professionalism was presented as essential for succeeding in the technology sector.
The activity-based methodology encouraged students to actively participate, analyse realistic workplace situations, collaborate with peers, and reflect on their own employability strengths and areas for improvement.
The session concluded with students developing a 90-day career action plan, encouraging them to move from passive career preparation to active skill development and evidence building.
The “From Campus to Corporate: Global Business Foundation Skills for Career Success” session served as an effective career-readiness initiative for BCA undergraduate students. It equipped students with practical insights into workplace expectations and encouraged them to view their BCA education as a foundation for continuous professional development.
