The Department of Animation organised a session on “Beyond Reality: VFX and AI in Animation”, conducted by Mr. Shreyas K. N. The session focused on the practical applications of VFX, 3D modelling, texturing, AI tools, motion generation, video editing, and AI-generated music in modern animation and filmmaking.
The resource person demonstrated 3D modelling using Autodesk Maya, texturing with Adobe Substance 3D Painter, and AI-assisted scene creation using Google Gemini and Google Flow. Students were also introduced to Claude and Hitzeville for prompt generation and AI-based content creation. The session further demonstrated how multiple generated clips could be edited using Adobe Premiere Pro and enhanced with music using Snow AI.
The hands-on demonstrations helped students understand how traditional animation software and emerging AI technologies can be integrated into a modern creative workflow. Overall, the session provided students with valuable practical exposure to the evolving role of AI in animation and VFX.
