Mangaluru, July 3: The Department of Clinical Psychology, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organized a community outreach and extension activity titled “Emotional Regulation: Building Resilience, Managing Stress, Serving Better” for police personnel at Kannur Police Station on July 3, 2026.
This awareness program aimed at promoting psychological well-being among frontline law enforcement personnel. Police officers frequently encounter demanding and high-stress situations that can affect their emotional health and professional functioning. The interactive session included discussions on identifying emotions, managing occupational stress, practical emotion regulation techniques, and the importance of self-care in maintaining personal and professional effectiveness.
This programme forms part of the department’s ongoing extension activities aimed at taking mental health awareness beyond the classroom and into the community. Earlier, the department had successfully conducted a similar awareness programme for police personnel at the Mangalore East Police Station, and the initiative has now been extended to Kannur Police Station as part of its continued commitment to community mental health promotion.
Through such outreach initiatives, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, continues to foster collaborations with community stakeholders and contribute to the psychological well-being of frontline professionals, reinforcing its mission of academic excellence coupled with meaningful social responsibility.
