The Orientation Programme for Class Representatives and Assistants was conducted on 4 July 2026 with the objective of preparing the newly elected student leaders to effectively carry out their roles and responsibilities while developing essential leadership qualities.

The programme featured two enriching sessions by distinguished resource persons. The first session on “Roles and Responsibilities of Class Representatives” was led by Mrs. Nimitha K, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru. She highlighted the vital role of class representatives as a bridge between students and faculty, stressing the importance of responsibility, accountability, discipline, effective communication, and commitment in carrying out their duties.

The second session on Leadership and Teamwork was conducted by Mrs. Vinatha K., TEDx Speaker and Retired Associate Professor & Head, Department of Psychology, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru. Drawing from her vast experience, she emphasized the importance of integrity, communication, collaboration, empathy, confidence, and teamwork in becoming an effective leader. Through inspiring examples and interactive discussions, she encouraged students to lead with purpose and positively influence those around them.

The programme included several engaging activities that reinforced the concepts discussed during the sessions. The Paper Challenge promoted teamwork, coordination, creativity, and problem-solving skills, while role-play and acting activities enhanced participants’ communication, confidence, and interpersonal skills. Other collaborative exercises encouraged students to think critically, work together effectively, and develop practical leadership abilities.

The orientation programme was informative, interactive, and inspiring. It equipped the Class Representatives and Assistants with valuable leadership skills and a clear understanding of their responsibilities, motivating them to serve their classes with integrity, responsibility, and confidence. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the resource persons for their insightful sessions and guidance.
