The Department of Clinical Psychology in association with Psynergy (PG Psychology Forum) organized the photography competition titled “Frame the Republic – Then vs Now” on 27th January 2026, to revisit and reflect on India’s journey through time. The competition was open to the public and invited participants to creatively capture visual contrasts between the past and present that symbolize the spirit of the Republic. Entries were accepted until 26th January 2026, and only original photographs were considered for evaluation. The winner of this competition is Ms. Maureen Edwards, Assistant Professor of Microbiology, Srinivas University Institute of Allied Health Sciences. Her photograph stood out for its thoughtful representation of the “Then vs Now” theme, visual contrast through built spaces and surroundings. The photograph juxtaposes a traditional tiled-roof house with a modern, brightly colored concrete structure, set against a backdrop of natural greenery and palm trees, with the Indian flag visible in the frame. The composition effectively reflects continuity and change within the Indian context. The entry was appreciated for its composition, symbolic depth, and strong connection to the spirit of the Republic.
