The “World Environment Day” was celebrated by Mangalore Muncipal Corporation ,Forest Department,Mangalore Smart City Ltd,National Service Scheme(Mangalore University),Bharat Scouts and Guides D.K District and Karnataka State Pollution Control Board Mangalore on 12thJuly 2019.
The programme began with an awareness rally from Mangala Stadium to T.M.A Pai Convention centre at 9.00 a.m. About 2000 students from various colleges from the city participated in this programme.
The Chief guests were Saalumarada Thimmakka, Piyush.L.Rodrigues,U.T.Khadar and Dr. Sudhakar.The guests spoke on the importance of conserving the environment for a better healthier future.This was followed by oath taking ceremony to protect environment by the participants. The programme ended at 1.00 pm with lunch.
