Yoga is the dance of every cell with the music of every breath that createsserenity and harmony. St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June 2022, which was held in St Agnes P.U. College conference hall. The participants comprised of NCC cadets of both Army and Airwing. Chief guest Sr Norine DSouza A.C., the Principal of St Agnes P.U. College inaugurated the days’ event by lighting the lamp, Lt Gayathri BK, ANO Armywing; Flg Officer Dr Hithakshi B, ANO Airwing and Ms Sneha, Staff incharge in PUC for NCC , were also present. The Chief Guest, in her address to the gathering, emphasized on the importance of yoga to maintain a healthy body and healthy mind. She also mentioned that Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self. And that is why we need to take care of our self and this can be made possible by practicing yoga. The yoga session was carried out by the students of St Agnes College who are yoga experts – Ms. Neha of III BCA who has participated in Inter University Yoga competition for three consecutive years and had won the firstplace in the year 2021. CWO Neha S Rao of II BCA who has represented the college twice in inter University yoga competition and has also won first place in South Zonal yoga competition held in 2021 and Cdt Cpl Niveditha of II B.Sc., who has also participated in Yoga at different occasions. The cadets enthusiastically performed yoga as per the instructions and experienced a sense of peace and happiness.
