In observance of International Yoga Day, a dedicated yoga session was organized for all MBA and MCA students on June 20, 2026. The students, aptly donned in white attire, gathered for the event, which commenced at 11:15 AM. The program began with a serene prayer led by Cliyon and his team from the MBA department. Following the prayer, Thasma (I MBA) provided a brief introduction to the program’s theme, and Harshitha (I MCA) formally introduced the esteemed Chief Guest and Instructor Mr. Kushalappa Gowda, Founder of Avishkar Yoga, Mangaluru (M.Sc Yoga, MSW, M.Phil Yoga Therapist). To honour the instructor, Mrs. Sheryl Preethika, the HOD of Department of MBA presented a traditional “green welcome.”
The session was graced by the presence of Mrs. Panchajanyeswari M Achar (HOD–MCA), Mrs. Sheryl Preethika, the HOD of Department of MBA, Mr Chaco P. J, Mr Roopesh Kumar, and Ms Joylene Lobo, Assistant Professors of the MBA Department, along with Mrs Akshatha Shetty, Mrs Sweedle Dsouza and Ms Vaishnavi, Assistant Professors of the MCA Department. Their presence and encouragement added significance to the programme.
The practical session was initiated and expertly guided by the Chief Guest. Emphasizing the global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Aging,” the instructor led the students through a varied range of traditional postures and breathing exercises. The guided session included detailed demonstrations and the active practice of specific asanas, namely Swastikasana, Makarasana, Pavanamuktasana, Setubhandasana and many more.
The engaging and revitalizing event concluded at approximately 12:15 PM. Vihita (I MBA) delivered the formal vote of thanks, expressing profound gratitude to the instructor for sharing his time, expertise, and highly effective teaching methods. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the student body, equipping them with practical techniques to foster long-term physical and mental well-being.
