The Department of Business Administration, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organised a seminar on “Understanding and Using Data in Research” for II BBA students on 17 March 2026 at 10.45 am in L45. Ms Vaishnavi K, II MSc Big Data Analytics, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, was the resource speaker. The session explained what data is, the different types of data (primary and secondary), and how data can be collected through surveys, interviews, and observations. The resource person also highlighted the importance of organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data correctly to draw meaningful conclusions. Simple tools such as Excel and basic statistical methods were introduced to make data handling easier. Overall, the session helped students understand how to use data effectively to improve the quality and reliability of research.
